Plasma cutting is the method where it cuts through electrically conductive materials with the use of an accelerated jet of hot plasma. The metal or electrically conductive material that is being cut becomes part of the circuit thus causing the plasma to transfer and to work. CNC enables the control of the whole process through predetermined patterns and shapes, which the operator inputs to the machine. Plasma cutting is widely used for cutting metal sheets in curved shapes.CNC Plasma Cutters are also used to create decorative metal sheet works like commercial signage ,residential signages, address sign boards, and other outdoor arts. An electric arc is sent through the constricted opening of the nozzle for the gas, which raises the temperature of the gas and converts the state of the matter of the gas to plasma. The gas for this purposed used are nitrogen, oxygen, etc. This restricted gas passing through high speeds cuts through the molten metal. Benefits Of Cutting - Plasma cutting is an effective technique to cut through thin and thick materials alike but the only impediment being that the material has to be electrically conductive for the process. Generally, handheld plasma cutters can cut through a thickness of 38mm, and CNC controlled machines can go up to 150mm. Again, there are other aspects of the process to be looked into as the performance can be different with different materials.
