  • For epoxy painting of drinking water tanks, the concrete must have a minimum strength of 25 MPa, be mechanically vibrated and helicopter‑finished to reduce honeycombing, then all floors, walls, and ceilings are sanded, vacuum‑cleaned, dry, and free of obstructions; cracks are opened in a 5×5 mm V‑shape, corners and pour joints are chased 3×3 cm, areas around T‑rods are broken out 5 cm in diameter and depth, and all are filled with grout before epoxy application, after which the substrate is checked to be clean, dust‑free, with humidity below 90% and temperature above 5 °C, V‑cracks are filled and sanded, a full coat of epoxy putty is applied and sanded, then two coats of high‑build, solvent‑free epoxy are applied at about 200–250 microns each to provide a flexible, environmentally friendly, non‑carcinogenic coating that is water‑, UV‑, and bacteria‑resistant for safe drinking water service
